Adventure Trip - Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands
Travel adventures are trips conducted by our staff to get first hand view of great trips. They related their experiences and to help plan a great trip!
Ecuador (which includes the Galapagos Islands) may be one of the smallest countries in South America, but its diversity might surprise you. This destination offers everything an adventurer could want including distinctive wildlife, world-class snorkelling and scuba diving, dense Amazon rainforests and magical cloud forests to hike in, lively markets to explore and a charming world heritage listed capital city.

A wonderful city it serves as your hop off point for the Galapagos. The old town has a south American Spanish charm and it’s nightlife is both generally safe and fun and loud.
The Galapagos can be seen a number of ways
We stayed by boat. The trip was booked through the GalapagosIslands.com and we stayed on the Anahi. It was a decent boat with OK food and medium service. However, you can’t beat the surrounding areas. The snorkeling and ocean wildlife is up close and personal. From Sharks, to sea lions, to sting rays and turtles to thousands of fish. On land the different islands house completely different types animals from iguanas to turtles, blue footed boobies and sea lions – and of course finches.
The Galapagos is closely related to the scientist and philosopher Charles Darwin. Darwin's visit to the Galapagos Islands had a resounding impact on the formation of his Theory of Natural Selection or what is better known as the theory of evolution.
