Bermuda – A small collection of islands

Travel adventures are trips conducted by our staff to get first hand view of great trips. They related their experiences and to help plan a great trip!

Consisting of over 180 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, Bermuda is a British colony that has something to offer every type of person. Whether you’re looking to kick your feet up on a lounger at Horseshoe Bay, known for its stunning pink sand beaches or rent a sea-doo and jump the waves, you’ll be able to find it all just a short day trip away.

Cruising around on Celebrity Cruise Line

Cruising is a popular way to explore the territory of Bermuda. Cruise ships can dock at three different locations: St. George’s, Hamilton, and the Royal Naval Dockyard. If your ship doesn’t stop at all three docks though, not to worry because catching a ferry between these three islands is easy and quick to do. This was how we got around since our Celebrity Cruise stationed itself at the Royal Naval Dockyard for the three days that we are in Bermuda. The ship featured some incredible nightly entertainment (including live bands, musicals, comedians and magicians just to name a few!) and my second floor exterior room had plenty of space. Unfortunately though, the common spaces tended to be filled with young kids (even the adult only areas of the spa) which was likely due to the limited size of the ship and because we spent four days at sea, during which everyone was onboard.

Some of the highlights during our time exploring Bermuda were mini-putting along the ocean cost, next to a tiki bar with some pleasant staff. We made two day trips to the islands of St. George’s and Hamilton. There’s plenty of cute shops to explore in both of these places and we also grabbed a cab to Horseshoe Bay Beach from Hamilton. The warm clear water and pink sand beaches were stunning, although short lived due to a temporary downpour – my advice to you for your next trip: wait out the rain! In just a few minutes, the sky always cleared out (along with the crowds!).
